Sunderland Driving - Instructor Terms & Conditions

Welcome to the team! Here’s the lowdown on how we work at Sunderland Driving. We keep it simple, fair, and clear.

💷 Weekly Payment

·        You pay £40 per week, due every Friday.

·        Payment can be made by bank transfer or cash. Easy.

👨‍🎓 Learners Supplied

·        We’ll work on getting you learners, but the more notice you give us, the better we can help you fill your diary.

·        A quick text is all it takes. Ideally give us 1–2 weeks’ notice before you’re needing someone to start. The more heads-up, the better!

🚫 No Contracts, No Tie-Ins

·        No lengthy tie-ins here.

·        You’re free to leave at any time, no notice period required.

📲 Booking Learners

·        When we get a learner, we’ll pass on their contact details to you.

·        You are responsible for booking them in and taking payment directly.

·        We do not handle lesson payments on your behalf.

🚗 Top Sign (Roof Sign)

·        We’ll give you a Sunderland Driving top sign, paid for by us.

·        If/when you leave, you agree to either:

·        - Return it to us within 7 days, or

·        - Pay the cost of the sign (we’ll provide the receipt for proof of cost).

·        No hard feelings, we just need the gear back or covered.

📸 Pass Photos & Reviews

·        After each test pass, we’d love a photo and review (with the learner’s permission).

·        It helps us both grow. Just check that they’re happy to share it.

🚦 Professionalism

·        Instructors agree to maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times while representing Sunderland Driving: including being punctual, polite, and presenting a clean car.

📆 Lesson Cancellation Policy

·        You’re responsible for setting your own lesson cancellation policy, but we recommend having at least 48 hours' notice required for cancellations.

·        You must communicate your policy clearly to your learners from the start – If needed we will give you some terms and conditions to send to your learners.

🔄 Communication with the Team

·        If there are any changes to your availability or circumstances, please keep us updated. We also like to touch base a few times per month when things are ticking over smoothly just to see how you are getting on. 

·        Regular communication helps us keep your diary ticking over smoothly.

🧾 Record Keeping

·        Instructors are responsible for keeping their own records for income, taxes, and expenses.

·        Sunderland Driving does not provide tax or financial advice.

👕 Use of Branding

·        You agree to only use Sunderland Driving branding (top signs, logos, etc.) while working under our name.

·        If you leave, any use of our brand must cease immediately.

🚫 Misconduct Clause

·        If there’s any behaviour that could damage the reputation of Sunderland Driving, including unprofessional conduct, unsafe driving, or illegal activity - we reserve the right to stop supplying learners immediately and rescind the franchise terms.
